The loss can be justified by the fact they still have Neuvirth and Holtby.

Yeah I really don't see this as a huge loss for the Caps if he does go back to the KHL

Neuvirth can hold his own as a starter and Holtby showed he's a viable option as well.

Washington made out like bandits there. That pick could potentially be a lottery pick in a deep draft.

If Varlamov gets injured the Avs just might be SOL. They don't have Anderson to save them anymore. Although I think their team is improved a bit with Johnson, and what could be Stewart's replacement, Landeskog. That still won't make them a playoff team
