Houstontexans.com is reporting that QB Matt Schaub could miss up to four weeks with an MCL Injury.
Denverbroncos.com is reporting that RB Michael Pittman and Andre Hall have been placed on Injured Reserve.Quarterback Matt Schaub suffered an injury to his medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his left knee on Sunday at Minnesota. It appears he will miss an extended period of time, including this week's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
In the meantime, Sage Rosenfels will be the Texans' starting signal-caller.
"I know it's going to keep (Matt) out at least a couple weeks," coach Gary Kubiak said. "It could possibly be up to four.
"Sage is the guy going into this week’s game. We’ll have to make a decision after that."
Schaub, who is walking on crutches after undergoing an MRI Monday, injured his knee when Vikings defensive end Jared Allen hit the quarterback low on the first series of Minnesota's 28-21 victory at the Metrodome. Schaub played through the injury in the first half, despite getting sacked three times.
The Broncos announced on Monday that two running backs will be placed on IR. Andre Hall (left hand) and Michael Pittman (neck) were both placed on the reserve/injured list. Both players were injured during Denver’s game against Miami on Sunday.
Pittman has been the starter at running back for the past three games, and his 320 yards on 76 carries leads the team. He has also caught 10 passes for 112 yards. He has been into the endzone four times on the ground. Pittman is an 11-year pro who has seen time in all eight games this season.
Hall, who averaged 4.9 yards per carry in 2007, has rushed 35 times for 144 yards this season. He has also caught three passes for 25 yards and returned 21 kickoffs for an average of 22.3 yards per return. In his second year with the Broncos, Hall has seen time in all eight games this season.
