Danny Granger has continued soreness in his left knee and will be out indefinitely.

Granger will get a second opinion.

The Indiana Pacers will have Paul George take a bigger role in the offense in Granger's absence.

Big blow for the Pacers but great for George. This will definitely lower them in the standings though. I wish I took Paul George on my fantasy team now lol.

the division was almost theirs for the taking, this hurts them a lot.

Well hopefully it is not serious for their sake.

I don't know about anybody else, but I think that is a serious hit for the Pacers. That makes my Bulls pick to win the division look a whole lot better now.

UPDATE:

The Indiana Pacers announced that Danny Granger received an injection Tuesday to treat left patellar tendinosis. The procedure was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Gulf Breeze, Fl. Team medical personnel are looking at a recovery period of approximately three months.

The fact that Paul George isn't off to a blistering start doesn't help either. 14 ppg on 40.7% shooting.

Report: Pacers contact Mickael Pietrus after Granger news

The Pacers may want to add some wing depth to their roster following the news that Danny Granger is out for three months allowing his left knee to heal.

Which may mean enter Mickael Pietrus, reports Mike Wells of the Indy Star on twitter.

Mike Wells @MikeWellsNBA

The Pacers have already reached out to the agent of free agent swingman Mickael Pietrus as a possible replacement in the lineup

Pietrus has bounced around the NBA for nine seasons and last season was coming off the Boston bench, playing even more minutes for them in the playoffs and while he hit a few big shots never really being all that efficient or effective (he shot just 38.5 percent in the regular season and 32 percent in the playoffs).

He would come off the bench and play limited minutes. He could be a small help, but what the Pacers really need is guys already on the roster — Roy Hibbert and Paul George — to step it

Pietrus would be a decent replacement for Granger's absence, not bad at all. I'm surprised he wasn't picked up this year.

Christ, I didn't even realize he was still FA. What the hell is up with that? The dude can ball. Made some HUGE contributions for Boston last year.
