DURHAM, N.H. -- Former University of New Hampshire quarterback Ricky Santos has signed as a free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Santos is expected to travel to Kansas City this weekend to take part in the team's rookie mini-camp.
Santos owns nearly all Wildcat passing records, was named an all-American and won the Walter Payton Award for best offensive player in Division I FCS football in 2006.
Santos' former teammate, wide receiver David Ball, has signed with the New York Jets. Ball broke Jerry Rice's all-time record for touchdown receptions and was Santos' favorite target for three years.
