As expected, 1 day after the Magic acquired Vince Carter, Hedo Turkoglu opted out of the final year of his contract. with the team.
Due $7.3M next season, the remainder of a 6 year/$36M deal, Turkoglu will now hit the open market in search of a major pay day. The Turkish forward will most likely seek out a deal worth about $10M per, a price tag the Magic admittedly won't be able to hit, now with Carter on the payroll.
The Agent of Turkoglu, Lon Babby, did say he Magic passed off an early offer...and offer that Magic GM Otis Smith described as a "jumping off point".
So how long before Turkoglu gets his Pistons payday? -AE
