Turiaf, Not Walton, May Start Lakers' Season Opener

At the end of a routine day, Lakers coach Phil Jackson caused a minor stir by saying he was considering starting forward Ronny Turiaf ahead of Luke Walton when the season begins Oct. 30.

It had nothing to do with Walton's strained right hamstring, which prevented him from practicing Friday. It had everything to do with Jackson's desire to add Turiaf's energy to the starting five.

"We'll see how it goes," Jackson said. "It's still a long time away from tip time, but I know we have to have starters coming off the bench to be a good team."

Walton played great last year, having him come off the bench would make the bench even stronger

surprising move...Turiaf has not proven himself in an actual NBA game...well not consistantly.

The Lakers are gonna look to be more defensive this year.
This is where the starting of Ronny comes in
It makes the Lakers have a very tall/athletic/strong front court
moving Lamar back to the 3, his true position, is gonna play major dividends for us this year

yes!! turiaf is gonna start! he is so energetic but i think it will also be good if he comes off the bench but either way turiaf is energetic and crazy! hahah
