This is going to make the Rockets look better for a little while, because of his defensive skills, but losing a young stud in Parsons is foolish and completely unnecessary considering Asik and Lin are gone.
 
I understand that matching depended on Bosh agreeing to the deal (for the record, why the fuck would he choose MIA over Houston if he wants to win titles?), but sometimes you gotta keep one of your best pieces, and one of those times is when you've promised title contention to guys like Howard and Harden.

I wouldn't say Ariza really moves the needle over the Parsons, Ariza may be marginally better defensively but he's not the same type of defender he used to be. I'd even say as far as rotations go Parsons is more likely to make the correct ones.
