Tony Romo collapsed in the shower
9:29 PM Sun, Dec 28, 2008

Tony Romo's three turnovers were momentarily meaningless Sunday night when players started yelling in the shower after the quarterback collapsed from a rib injury.

Athletic trainer Jim Maurer and his staff rushed into the shower as the locker room came to a near standstill. A stretcher was wheeled in, but Romo was eventually helped to his feet and taken into the training room.

As someone who was standing there watching this whole scene unfold, I can tell you the players were shocked. They didn't know what to do. Deon Anderson went out running for emergency help, but Maurer and associate athletic trainer Britt Brown were all over it.

Adam Jones, of all people, was standing there yelling at me, another reporter and a TV camera man to get back. Let me tell you, running into the shower was the last place we needed to be at that moment. Jerry Jones' personal security chief, Roosevelt Riley, came out to push everybody back and an equipment staff member grabbed all of Romo's things and headed to the training room.

When asked later what happened, Romo said, "Um, you know, I was just a little banged up, I guess."

While the injury was no laughing matter, Romo fell to 5-8 as a starter in December, and his reputation for coming up short in big games is only getting worse.

"Well, I've got to play better," Romo said. "The team's got to play better. We didn't play good this December. That's obviously the story."

He's a douche.
I love how every Cowboys' fan is now turning on him...as opposed to the other 52 men on the roster or the Coaching staff. Hey Hoffa...there's more than 1 game to win in a 16 game schedule.

Okay and you point is? Did you even watch the Cowboys and Eagles game? Tony Romo was <Censored>e that gave he was flat out awful then he has the nerve to go a pull a dumb stunt like this so he can get attention. He is a dumbass, I've been saying this since WEEK 3 and I can give you proof off another forum. I said Tony Romo isn't my quarterback and this douche isn't.

Um....my point is pretty obvious. Maybe if Dallas didn't blow one of their other 7 losses to begin with, then they wouldn't of been in a "win to get in" situation on Sunday.

Either way, your TEAM is pathetic. You have 2 weeks, control your own destiny, and couldn't do it. This team has no identity, no direction, and more problem than solution. You brought in Pacman, traded for Roy Williams, and NOTHING to show for it. Things get worse before they get better for Dallas.

This is one time I don't even want to hear you mutter the words: "They'll be fine" either, because they wont. I guarantee Jerry Jones is furious with the way his team went out this season. Dallas' fans are crying for some change & guarantee Jones will make some major changes. Nobody's job is safe in Dallas right now.

Oh I totally agree with you. Me and my friends last night say the same thing "Nobody's job is safe" and you are totally right. If I was Jerry Jones I know for a fact I would get rid of Wade Phillips and I would either draft a quarterback and go out and look for the best quarterback coach in the world to teach the kid everything! And tell Tony Romo this is your last shot here in Dallas you blow this 2009 season in a new Billion dollar Stadium your career is over here.

That's what I would do. I am pissed off what happened last night and I was "embarrassed to step out side" and show my face to the public that's how embarrassed I was.

If Cowboys don't make it to the playoffs next year and WIN a game. I am DONE watching American Football!

Yeah I know, and they said that Phillips was going to change his way of coaching lol, now how gay is that. Some one tells the owner don't fire me I'll just change the way I coach the club? I mean how silly is that.

well at least that ones not coming from a Cowboy fan, lol.

He doesnt suck, he just seems to crack under pressure. We've seen it what? 3 years in a row now? If he fs things up again next year, hes toast man.

And if the Giants build up on their team next year (I think the G-Men will pursue Boldin) it'll just make things that much harder.

No way mate. When I pick a team in sports I stick with them but when I start getting pissed off and my stress level starts shooting up because of the stupid team how it's performing, I just quit watching the whole sport. I've been watching the Cowboys since 1998 or 1999 and next year will be either a year we win a playoffs game or I stop watching NFL.
