Tony Allen Suspended One Game By NBA For Kicking Chris Paul In Face
Nov 19, 2013 5:03 PM EST

Tony Allen has been suspended one game by the NBA for kicking Chris Paul in the head on Monday, the league announced on Tuesday.

Allen kicked Paul in the face, with his shin, in a jump in the air as he attempted to make a defensive play. The incident occurred in the Memphis Grizzlies' win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

I truly believe this was an accident on Allen's part and it is not worthy of a suspension.

That shouldn't even be a suspension. It was impressive. I have seen players flail arm and legs all over, during the games, and Chris Paul isn't that tall, so it doesn't surprise me. The league probably thought about that they can't just not give a punishment at all, so they just throw the 1 gamer on him.

If Chris Paul had kicked someone, you'd be protesting to put him on death row

Well, as Chris Paul is actually a dirty player, I would hope that everyone would expect him to be punished. I'm not saying Tony didn't deserve the suspension, but as someone who doesn't like players who constantly cheap shot opponents and shove off every time they dribble down the floor, I will enjoy Chris Paul getting kicked, shoved, teeth knocked out, whatever. The guy brings these things upon himself, just like Blake Griffin used to before he stopped complaining so much and staring down everybody he dunked on.

You can really see the Doc influence on the Clippers. Much more composed on the court.
