The Timberwolves reached a buyout agreement with center Eddy Curry on Tuesday night.

Minnesota acquired Curry along with forward Anthony Randolph in a trade with New York last week.

They also got $3 million in cash in the deal, which will cover the cost of Curry's buyout.

Curry was waived before the midnight deadline, which means he is eligible to participate in the playoffs if he signs with another team.

If Curry can get his head on straight and drop like 30 pounds, he could be good again.

He has 9 seasons, 6 of those he averaged more than 10.5 points per game. 2 of those seasons he only played less than 7 games the entire season. He's averaged 19.5 points with 7 rebounds for a season, thats pretty good. Especially for most centers in this league. He just needs to slim down, he can still be good.

He should go to Portland if he can slim down, I think he fits their style.

The 7 rebounds is the most impressive thing there... I think everybody knows Eddy can score, but the dude never wanted to rebound in Chicago.

Heat May Consider Signing Curry

Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com believes that the Heat will consider signing Eddy Curry, who was bought out by the Timberwolves on Tuesday.

Minnesota acquired him in a trade from New York last week.

"Look at the end of some of the playoff team benches. I know it's a punch line but Curry will get looked at by teams. Including Heat," Windhorst wrote on his Twitter page.

Portland should look at him, he'd be better than Collins.

If any team is gonna sign him though, they should set a weight limit in the contract.
