Tim Thomas’ self-imposed exile from hockey won’t be coming to an end now that the lockout is over.

TSN’s Bob McKenzie tweeted an update on the soon-to-be former Bruins netminder and says he’s more than happy at his Colorado homestead.

As of now, subject to usual "could change mind later" qualifiers, TIm Thomas is not interested in ending his self-imposed hockey exile.

Said to be content/happy living with his family in Colorado, Thomas not interested in fulfilling final contract yr with BOS/any other team.
The Bruins will have to find a way to free up the roster space and his cap space this season, and depending how teams shape up once camps get under way, they might be in luck.

Thomas
waived his no-movement clause over the summer
meaning his cap hit could be acquired by a team in need of reaching the salary floor, but if they’re expecting him to suit up they’ll be left disappointed. If Thomas can still be moved easily, the Bruins would likely do it should they need the cap space.

Thank God. Thomas is such a fucking schmuck and an attention whore. The whole shit about not visiting the White House really pissed me off.

Plus, he's on the Bruins.

Maybe we'll see Malcolm Subban a bit this year behind Rask.

Yeah, but he's still an amazing goalie. Sucks he's a head case. Oh well, let him sit.

They'd be best leaving Subban the year in juniors. Khudobin is a serviceable backup.

So is he not officially retiring or something? I don't get why the Bruins need to free up roster space for him.
