Infante is a utility infielder (he'll start at 2nd) but Sanchez is a good upgrade. Not worth Jacob Turner though.

Turner is hard to give up but it could be big if they extend Sanchez.

I don't mind it. I'll be interested to see what else we're giving up.

The Marlins obtain prospects Rob Brantly and Brian Flynn along with Turner, Gammons tweets.
I can live with it.

Infante is much better that anything we got now. Sanchez is pretty good. But for Turner and Brantly. I just don't know.

I'm happy about it. Turner did look good his last start, but he's still learning. I liked what I saw from Brantly, in the Futures Game, so that hurts a little to lose him, but he'll probably play earlier in Miami, before he would in Detroit. Plus, this should help Smyly recover from his injury and develop more. One negative about this is that means an all-righty rotation.

I really think Turner is going to make us hate this deal in a few years :/
Unless we win it all this year cause of this trade.

im not on the turner hype train. im happy with this deal and im sure we'll try to extend sanchez. gave up some prospects for players that will help us now and still could in the future. not bad by me.

Small sample size, but Sanchez has pretty bad in interleague this year. Hopefully that wont continue. And I'll hate this deal a lot of we don't extend Sanchez.

I think Turner is going to be pretty good in another year or two. I am just glad the Tigers didn't give up Nick as well, that's one positive out of this. I would have preferred Josh Johnson over Sanchez, but that would have cost the Tigers even more. Infante is clearly an upgrade at 2B, hitting close to .290 while the other Tigers second baseman are lucky to hit .200. I know the batting avg isn't everything, but it's an upgrade. Another positive, the Tigers late second round pick will now be a late first round pick next year.

I think this about sums it up..

Ultimately, what Sanchez does down the stretch — the fact that he has never pitched in the American League makes this part interesting — will go a long way towards determining whether this trade was worth it. How Turner does in the coming years will determine the rest. In the end, though, you can at least see the Tigers rotation without Turner a little easier than you could six months ago.
