5 years, $80M. Cubs offered $77M, Tigers counter and sign. Red Sox went after him but didn't offer that much.

I've said it a million times and I'll say it again, could have used half that money to sign Edwin Jackson and still have another 8M per year to play around with for each of the next couple seasons.

Edwin Jackson is going to get something near 4 years/60 million. 8 mill per year more to spend is a stretch.

I find it hard to believe he'll get that much after putting up basically the same numbers since 2008, minus a shitty stretch with Arizona, and not being able to get it last year.

Yeah, but he wasn't on the market last season and had to settle for a one year deal because nobody would give him 4/$40 or 5/$50 except the Pirates who didn't wanna pitch for

Like I've said all along, it was a no brainer to bring him back with what we gave up for him. Price was a bit steep but we didn't have much of a choice.

I also heard that Illitch made a push for it to happen as well. Can't really disagree with the owner haha.

Verlander, Fister, Scherzer, Sanchez, Porcello/Smyly looks pretty good to me. I won't be surprised if they trade Rick Porcello now..

I heard they are shopping him. Makes sense really. I can live with Drew as the #5.
