Broncos signed QB Kyle Orton to a one-year, $9 million contract extension through 2011.
The deal includes $5.5 million in guarantees. This is a much deserved reward for Orton's excellent training camp as well as an acknowledgment that he's light years ahead of Tim Tebow and Brady Quinn in coach Josh McDaniels' offense. It's no longer safe to assume that Tebow will take over the offense late in the season, and he may be a year and a half to two years from seeing the starting lineup. Orton still falls shy of franchise QB status, so his Dynasty value doesn't get much of a bump. Aug. 19 - 9:37 pm et
Not really a "Tebow delay", we all know he isn't going to start on opening day. As of right now, Orton is the man and they got him locked up, nothing earth shattering.
