According to an article by the Palm Beach Post, there is a perception developing that Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor could be dealt this off-season. With Bill Parcells coming in to begin a new era of football in Miami, it's no surprise that major personnel changes need to be made, with Jason Taylor a prime candidate to exchange for draft picks in helping to build the future of the franchise.
At 33-years old, Taylor is playing in the prime of his career and trading him now would give the Dolphins a higher return rather than waiting. Taylor has 2-years remaining on his current contract, with a base salary of $8.5 million in 2008 and $9 million in 2009. Taylor, a 6-time Pro Bowler, is Miami's all-time sacks leader.
Bill Parcells indicated on Monday that he would be reluctant to trade Taylor this off-season but also stated that he has barely scratched the surface in evaluating a team that is 1-14 in 2007. -AE
