Stuckey's people threatening to take Pistons' 1 year qualifying offer. If they do, he's an unrestricted FA in summer of 2012.

Stuckey's qualifying offer is for $3,868,443. If he signs it, big pay cut this year from Pistons offer.

Stuckey's reps have contacted a couple of teams about sign-and-trades. Very unlikely Pistons will agree to one. They want to keep him.

id s&t for a power forward if we could. he has a spot on the roster but i dont want him starting at the point and he needs to mkae the move over to the two, where he always should have been but i feel he wants to get paid and i just hope we dont give him big money because we're scared of losing him.

thats the rookie scale QO. thats not the actual contract. if he accepts that hes a free agent next season and will likely walk.

Stuckey's a weird player.

He has the size of a SG, but isn't a great shooter or finisher. Isn't real explosive either.

Negotiations between Rodney Stuckey and the Pistons have hit an impasse.

Detroit is offering a five-year deal worth between $40 million and $45 million.

Since Stuckey is a restricted free agent and the Pistions are threatening to match nearly any offer he receives from rival teams, his leverage is to take the qualifying offer for approximately $3.87 million.

wow. let his ass walk. why the fuck are we offering that much for someone who isnt going to get much better? id be all for keeping him at $7 Million a year at the MOST

Just sign and trade his ass, what the fuck.
It's pretty obvious he isn't all that excited to stay in Detroit.

But hey, Joe Dumars doesn't care. Give him 9 million a year!

When he gets a long term deal, it is going to be one where Pistons fans hate it in like two years.
Another fail for Dumars.

:FUDUMARS:

this deal will look good to casual fans but for people who understand the business side itll look like shit and it does. we should look for a sign and trade.

we're going in to this season with pretty much the same team and the same direction; which happens to be win enough games to get a 10-14 range pick and have no real core to the team. oh, rodney will likely get paid and will have an untradeable contract.

You finished 7th last year and didn't really upgrade anywhere, in fact lost Rip and T-Mac.

The Wizards, Nets and Kings all finished with worse records, and all 3 of those teams should be better then Detroit this year. However, the Bobcats are going to be incredibly bad, more then likely finishing worse then Detroit. I'm thinking 5th worst record.

well if we really play that bad then im going to be happy. but i cant see us playing the young guys, we dont have a good history at that. we need to play all the young guys and see who should be in our "core" going forward.

You'd think they'd understand that.

Us teams who genuinely try to be bad for top picks appreciate your contributions to not doing as such.
