Tracy McGrady, with his microfractured knee and $22.5 million salary that comes off the books next July, could be a player the Knicks will pursue this off-season.

Frank Isola writes that the Knicks could swap the expiring contracts of Larry Hughes and Cuttino Mobley to bring in the big name with All-Star pedigree who could improve their shot at the playoffs. That would perhaps make the club more attractive to LeBron James.

There is no guarantee that McGrady will be ready for the start of next season.

IMO, they could get him without giving up two expirings. Keep Cuttion's expiring and give up Hughes and Big Snacks(do they have him still?)
It would be bomb if they got him and kept most pf there expirings.

TMac was one of my favorite players when he was apart of the Magic, and if he hadnt gotten hurt, he would w/o a doubt be one of the greatest of all-time.

But I think we should stay away from this for two reasons.

1. He cant stay healthy
2. Didnt he say he lost the passion for the game?

You know what im going out on a limb here. T-mac will be a 22-5-5 guy next year. He wont be as explosive as he was in the past. But dude said he found his passion for the game again and i believe him. He knows its put up or shut up time for him.
