This guy was arguably the best scorer in the league in his prime, and it's a shame that so many people think he just had a massive decline. I've met countless people who didn't even know he had microfracture surgery. Such a shame. I hope he catches on as a coach somewhere.
Tracy McGrady is the absolute epitome of career shortened, literally destroyed, by injury. Yao could still ball, but there was no guarantee that he'd be healthy for 82-110 games. Tracy was able to play, but not even remotely like he used to. There is no other people who will ever come to mind first, when I think about injuries destroying somebody.
Was an honor to get to watch him in a Pistons uniform. One of my favorite players of all time. Certainly a sad day for the NBA.
As he said in the video, I think he does have a bit left in the tank but I don't blame him for not wanting to settle. In his year in Detroit, you could really see that he still had plenty of game left. Just wasn't given the best opportunity to show it.
