So the latest rumor is that Woodson says JR Smith may lose minutes if he shoots poorly early on, that Stoudemire should see only 10-15 minutes max.

I have no problem with Stoudemire in a limited role like that. He's not going to disrupt the chemistry in 10 minutes. In fact, he's been damn productive on the offensive end so if it means feeding him a few post shots (he's been pretty good in the post when he's played this year) and some P&R and taking away a few shots from JR, then I'm fine with it. I'm well aware of how much he sucks on defense, no need to bring that up again because it's gonna fall on deaf ears. Right now best thing we need is a big man who can get  inside for some effecient shooting, and STAT has been efficient almost every game he's played.

Obviously the main concern will be him him guarding West, or Hibbert if they throw him out there without K-Mart or Chandler. Then I expect him to get burned a lot.

I still think Stoudemire helps the Knicks when he is coming off the bench. Now when he is starting, I don't think so.

It would be great if they could get him 20-25 minutes a game after he gets healthy. He would be extremely beneficial for the Knicks to get him around that amount of PT. (Assuming they make it past the Pacers)

Not defensively. It's best to have him on when Melo isn't. Amar'e is a great option off the bench like you said, but giving him too many minutes is going to put him out there with Melo.

I'd like to see these minutes utilized with Pablo or Felton running P&R with Amar'e.

That's why I said only 20-25 minutes. Liability on defense, but as long as he isn't with Melo, they would be just fine. I mean, Stat was bringing like 16PPG off the bench when he was playing wasn't he? That would be a huge plus, as long as, like you said, he isn't in with Melo.

but if he's in for 20+ minutes he's bound to be out there when Melo is at some point. 15 is a good ceiling for this series.
