After 13 years of running a team on the floor and working closely on the bench with the men responsible for wins and losses, veteran point guard Damon Stoudamire has seen enough to put a finger on the Grizzlies' ragged start to the season.
Stoudamire is no longer willing to dance around the issue. He wants the Grizzlies to stop being soft.
"After a while, there's only so much a coach can do," Stoudamire said.
"The guys in this locker room have to decide when enough is going to be enough. We, as players, have to get tough. We have to help each other on defense and offense. We have to trust each other. ...When we get after it, we're not that bad."
The Griz enter their home game tonight against the New Orleans Hornets having lost nine of the past 11 games. They've dropped five of six outings at home, including a demoralizing defeat at the hands of Andre Iguodala and the Philadelphia 76ers.
