The Dallas Mavericks would be considered front-runners to sign Amar'e Stoudemire if the 13-year veteran opts to pursue a contract buyout from the New York Knicks, according to league sources.

Stoudemire made it clear in his public comments that he's not yet sure if he wants to seek a buyout from the Knicks to join a contender for the stretch run, but sources told ESPN.com that Dallas has quickly emerged as a prime landing spot if he becomes a free agent.

he's a solid bench option. He'll give you 20 minutes, 6 boards, 12 pts. We all know he can't play a lick of defense, but he's been solid offensively when he's been on the court this year. Just gotta do what NY has been doing and play him two games, rest him two games, and so on.

Stoudamire? They aren't related haha.

But he's an assistant coach at either Arizona or Memphis, can't remember which

God I would kill for Amare to be the Raps backup C.  He'd be better off going to a team that could win it all though (Cleveland, San Antonio, etc.).

Some interesting fits for Amare who has quietly become a really productive role player.

I'll never forget those days when Stat was lights out with that jump shot at the FT line.

Only to see the interior defense of a lineup containing Amare and Love

But I'm more interested in acquiring Rudy Gay, Ramon Sessions, Mo Williams and Lucious Harris for Mo Lucious Gay Love Sessions.
