All indications in Phoenix are the Suns will make Steve Nash a limited offer and he’ll move on. It makes sense as the Suns will have $23 million in salary cap room and they’ve gone as far as they can go. The Suns were always a player destination, and this will test whether they still are under the frugal Robert Sarver management. Many believe Nash instead of chasing a title with a contender for a lesser salary will go back to Canada and the Raptors for a three-year deal and help bring their young players along.

Yeah, I don't see a guy who deserves a ring go to a team that has no chance in the foreseeable future. Just to help the young players he has no connection to currently lol.

Haha that Stephen A gets me everytime. This wouldn't make sense. I think he has a better shot at a ring on the Suns than the Raptors do. It feels that he's been on the Suns forever, it made me almost forget that he was on the Mavs.

I don't see why Steve Nash must have a ring. He's already a first ballot HOFer. No one could fault him for wanting to go back home.

I would. He seems far too content to have never won anything. Never seemed like he cared the past two years while the Suns were never really relevant.

Going to a team where he knows that there is a 0% chance that they have a realistic shot at winning even a playoff series during his time there wouldn't make any sense.

Because not winning a championship does not equal the end of the world.

Not sure how signing with a stacked team at the end of his career and winning a ring would change his legacy or anything really.

Playing in front of your home town for equal pay seems like a good deal to me.

Who gives a shit about their legacy? You play basketball to win. Going somewhere knowing that you're going to lose is stupid and complacent.

I never said he should join a stacked team, I don't even want him in Miami. But going to place where you have no shot at winning makes zero sense.

Not sure how he seemed to "not care" either.

He damn near averaged 53/40/90 with 10+ assists on a garbage suns team.

Making millions of dollars playing a game close to home is now considered stupid, got it.

Losing is stupid.

And let's be honest, who really wants to live in Canada anyway?

Well he could win a ring, then go to Toronto if he really wanted to play at home. The whole point of playing in the NBA is really to win a ring?
