Pittsburgh Tribune Review
GREAT SIGNING. That reallt boosted our very weak O-Line. Especially after losing Faneca and possibly Max Starks. Im liking the Steelers moves this offseason so far.The Steelers fortified their offensive line Tuesday with three moves, one of which was an agreement with free agent center Justin Hartwig on a two-year contract.
Hartwig, 29, was released by the Carolina Panthers last week and visited the Steelers on Friday. He will receive $3.725 million, including a $975,000 signing bonus.
The Steelers also retained two players, signing restricted free agents Chris Kemoeatu and Trai Essex to one-year tenders.
Kemoeatu signed a second-round tender after the two sides were unable to agree to terms on a multiyear contract. Kemoeatu, who is entering his fourth NFL season, will receive $1.47 million in 2008.
