It's not that people said he wasn't clutch (though, there were plenty of those people), he was criticized for deferring in clutch situations.  He never seemed to want to be the closer even though he's always been the best option on his team.  He's embraced that role in recent years, though, it seems.

and his three point shot has improved tremendously, which helps a lot in clutch situations.

Even as a fan, I'm not that confident in his jump shots in clutch situations. If he decides to take it to the rim though, he can be all sorts of clutch, I think that's been proven. He's just never gonna be that guy that'll hit 30 foot bombs to win the game, I think.

The fact he defers is because I think he knows he doesn't have the best jumper. Shouldn't be condemned for it. 
LeBron haters I know loved this stat though lol.
