Kings center Spencer Hawes was one of three players who commented on the playing rotation by head coach Paul Westpahl that ran in the local paper yesterday. When Hawes got to the arena last night he found out that he was on the inactive list.
"I saw where he's having a hard time understanding his role," Westphal told The Sacramento Bee. "He should understand it (after) tonight."
Hawes has gone back and forth between starting and coming off the bench this season. The newspaper reports his relationship with Westphal and the coaching staff first became an issue last summer when Hawes was expected to be a part of the Kings' Summer League team, but decided at the last minute not to play.
