Forget Matt Cassel, Donovan McNabb, Tim Tebow and other possibilities. The Vikings have settled on their quarterback for the future. A little birdie says Tarvaris Jackson, who will start his first playoff game Sunday against the Eagles at the Metrodome, also will be the Vikings' starting QB when training camp opens in 2009.

The "little birdie" needs to be shot down, shaved, and roasted. It is way too early to make that call. Granted Tarvaris has played like a veteran NFL QB since he was given the ball back, he still looks too much like a guy who doesn't get it at times.

Anybody that watched the game Sunday, saw Tarvaris keep trying to heave the ball towards his closest man, rather than just take a sack. That's the "Bad Tarvaris". He then goes out and throws his first INT all season, a really bad read & costly mistake, but bounces right back, stays poised, and ends up with a 54-yard td pass to Berrian. That's the "Good Tarvaris".

The guy gives us the best chance to win and I feel like he was used as a scapegoat too early in the 2008 season, when it was horrible play-calling to blame. Nobody is more of Tarvaris supporter than I...but even I know that we have a playoff game to win and we will find out a lot about this guy on Sunday. We will concentrate on 2009 once the 2008 season ends.

i agree with you AE, but the "BadJackson" didnt play like he used to, at least he was throwing the ball at their feet before he got sacked and not at their chests waiting to get picked or leaving his reciever/runningback to get laid out

For "Bad Jackson", see Week 16 versus Washingon, 2007 Season.

Dude, he jumped up into the air and threw one of the worst passes I have ever seen. Those 2 picks were 2 of the worst picks he could of thrown and both were in in Washington territory, and both lead to Redskins' scoring drives. His QB Rating was only that high because he completed more than half his passes, a lot were check downs, and he ran for 2 TD's.
