Yes. They won't have any Cap flexibility in the 3rd year of the contract regardless of whether or not they match the offer. The Tax is a lot, but they've spent twice as much in the past and that's including the Tax.
From everything I've heard, read, etc. it really sounds like they won't match it but it's not definite either.
Aaand according to my twitter feed going beserk, the Knicks have ended their deliberations and won't match the offer. Off to Houston he goes. fuck this team.
i said no and thats just because they arent in the position to win a championship with him, though kidd could have helped him a lot. im actually more on the fence about it. the endorsement money will still make the team money but $15M is still a LOT for him.
Laker fans are everywhere. I was thinking Nash might start the ASG because of that. dont forget, they love kobe in China so they might vote for his star PG too
Chris Paul is so popular too. by every single teams fans and of course China
and now Lin is on Yao's former team
definitely the top 4 for voting. we'll see who starts
^
hate those voting contests, I think Coaches should choose who deserve to be on that team,
and also if they vote Lin in I doubt he even have all-star type of numbers.
On Numbers Never Lie, they presented a statistic: Lin was the 3rd best scorer this year when running isolations. Thats all Lin does, is run iso's. So when you have Carmelo Anthony, who is like a point forward, having a shoot first PG is not good for him. And while Lin did put up great numbers, most of those games were without Melo.
If you have to choose one guy to be on your team, because together they do not work together, only a fool would take Jeremy Lin over Carmelo Anthony.
Ray Felts is going to be much better FOR THE KNICKS than Lin was
melo isnt a point forward. hes just a ball dominant forward who plays like a balckhole. a point forward is like lebron who handles the ball and still sets up his teammates.
I want him in Houston, but I guess I don't expect much from him. I can see him having a good run for a little while, getting signed for big money, and then not being that great. I wish I was more excited about it.
