Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace asked the team for a buyout this year but was rejected, according the News-Herald.

Some believe that he might have signed with the Cavaliers, the team that eliminated his Pistons in a sweep, had he become a free agent.

Wallace will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

He wants to play for Popovich, but he's had "calf" problems for the last two years so he might call it quits..

Yeah, I'd like to see him retire because I want him to retire with the Pistons as his last team and he doesn't have the competitive drive anymore.

I wouldn't have minded him Cleveland, seems like a guy who would fit right in with Cavs considering they seem like a loose and fun team to be with and Sheed is a pretty funny guy even though I despise him as a Piston.

As I always say... Sheed is a guy you hate to play, but love to have on your team.

I`d rather see him retire as a Piston than go to another team. He had close to nothing left. Although, it would be interesting to see both Wallaces/former Pistons, reunite on the Cavs.

He had potential to be a tim duncan type of player. Idk why he never lived up to it. But he still was a good player.

He had the potential to be a MJ type of PF/C but his attitude stopped him from that.. Like Chuck says "Sheed is a retard"

There will never be a such thing as a MJ type PF or C. The great ones want to great sheed didnt want that. But with that said he still was a all star type player.

Contrary to rumors, Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace never asked the team for a buyout of his contract during their disappointing season.

Joe Dumars confirmed in an e-mail to the Detroit News that the rumor was false.

Wallace was known to joke about receiving a buyout in the team's locker room. It all reportedly started when the Pistons signed Chris Webber after he'd been bought out by the 76ers a couple years ago.
