New York Rangers forward Mike Rupp underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair a torn meniscus in his knee and is expected to miss four to six weeks. The procedure was performed by Dr. Andrew Feldman at the NYU Langone Medical Center Hospital for Joint Diseases in Manhattan.
Rupp, 31, has one goal and 14 penalty minutes in seven games this season. He has missed the last six games due to the injury. The nine-year NHL veteran skated in his 500th career NHL contest on Oct. 15.
Flames recall Brodie -- The Calgary Flames recalled defenseman T.J. Brodie from their AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford Heat after placing defenseman Anton Babchuk on Injured Reserve due to a hand injury.
Brodie, a native of Chatham, Ont., played three games in the NHL last season with the Flames. He has a goal and three assists along with 10 penalty minutes in 12 games with the Heat this season.
