Rodney Stuckey is on an expiring contract and understands he could be moved by the Detroit Pistons at the trade deadline, but the veteran guard is not focusing on speculation and is worrying about playing.

The Pistons could look to acquire a player who will help space the court.

“I don’t think about it, I just try to come out and play,” Stuckey said. “You have to be prepared for whatever happens. I never think about when February comes around. I’m just trying to come out and play basketball. Everything else would take care of itself."

"Why wouldn’t you want a 3-point shooter to spread the floor? Anybody would take that. It’s not up to me, you’re putting a lot of heat on me. To tell the truth, it’s on (Joe Dumars) and the rest of those guys to make that decision."

Stuckey has been in trade rumors for a long time. IMO, they don't need another big man if they trade him, but they do need an upgrade at SG (KCP is not cutting it). They also have too many PGs right now with Jennings, Stuckey, Bynum and Billups. I think it makes sense to move him for a SG.

To New York:
Rodney Stuckey ($8,500,000 EXPIRING)
C.J. Miles ($2,200,000 EXPIRING)

To Detroit:
J.R. Smith ($5,565,000 for 3 years)
Raymond Felton ($3,637,073 for 3 years)
Metta World Peace ($1,600,000 for 2 years)

To Cleveland:
Chauncey Billups ($2,500,000 for 2 years)

Detroit now has a more manageable number of PGs (Jennings, Felton, Bynum). Felton is a better passing PG than Stuckey who is more of a combo guard, which will help them improve the flow of their offense. J.R. Smith needs a new start and can start for the Pistons at SG and produce better than KCP for them. MWP is in the trade for salary reasons - however, he can either be waived or start at SF with the intention of moving Smith to PF and having Monroe start off the bench (as many have suggested, this will help improve the flow of their offense and have better shooting % if Smith starts at his more natural PF than SF position).

Cleveland is in the deal because they badly need a veteran presence and would benefit from having Chauncey be a good mentor for Irving and Waiters. He's won a championship and been through it all. Miles is expendable for Cleveland due to the acquistion of Deng who is now starting at SF.

Meanwhile the Knicks get some younger players to hopefully change up the lineup a bit and help them win more games. J.R. gets his change of scenery which will remove the distraction of everyone hating on him as a member of the Knicks.

Lol. JR and Jennings on the same team would be hilarious.

But I'd also kill myself if we had JR, Brandon, and Smith.
I also hate JR so.
