The Houston Rockets are willing to decline Chandler Parsons’ $960,000 fourth-year option in order to free up as much salary cap space as possible. The Rockets are also expected to shop Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik for draft picks and smaller contracts.
LeBron James is not bound to leave the Miami Heat, but his presence alongside James Harden and Dwight Howard would be deadly. A trio of LeBron James, James Harden and Dwight Howard seems extremely unstoppable. LeBron going to Houston is more bound to happen in NBA 2K than in real life, but that is what everyone was thinking before James took his talents to South Beach.
Due to his length and range from the field, Chris Bosh would be the ideal power forward alongside Dwight Howard. He can spread the floor with his jumper, score in the paint constantly, and be a threat on defense alongside Howard. Much like LeBron and Wade, Bosh is unlikely to leave the Heat if they three-peat.
Nobody expects Dirk Nowitzki to leave the Mavericks, but he has made it clear that he is all about winning and will take a pay cut if necessary:
“At this point of my career, it’s all about competing and winning,” Nowitzki said. “It’s not about money. Obviously, Cuban took care of me for a long, long time. I always tried to pay him back by hard playing and being here for this franchise, so I don’t think we’re going to fight over money.”
Dirk Nowitzki, James Harden and Dwight Howard would make a very interesting trio. Dirk’s experience, offensive effectiveness and leadership will definitely make the Rockets contenders. However, his presence will only make Houston’s defensive game weaker. If he takes a pay cut to join the Rockets, Houston would be in position to bring in a few other great role players rather than a superstar.

The Rockets are expected to pursue LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Dirk Nowitzki and Carmelo Anthony in the free agency period, according to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports:
Woj: Houston plans to pursue the major stars who could be available upon opting out of deals, including Miami’s LeBron James and Chris Bosh, and New York’s Carmelo Anthony, league sources said. Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki is expected to be a target too.
