I don't hate the signing or anything, but I might've preferred Marvin Williams given that he went for a lot cheaper

Ryno hasn't been all that consistent since the injury. He's become a guy that can go for 25 one night then 5 the next.

what? he is the perfect fit for this team. A stretch-4 who can hit the three. He doesn't play defense, but the Rockets seem to be on the path of no defense-all offense. The Rockets have been linked to Anderson for quite sometime, so this move was not surprising.

Yeah, way too much money for Anderson.

Rockets needed to get better defensively and they sign Anderson and Eric Gordon. Kind of funny.

I mean they are running the D'Antoni Offense. The team's gonna be bad defensively regardless, so max out the offense I guess eh?

that's generally the idea with D'Antoni teams, right? Clint Capela is a plus defender at the 5 and Beverly/Ariza are fairly well regarded defenders. The Rockets brought in defensive guru Jeff Bzdelik as an Associate Head Coach to help work on defense. His team's in Memphis the last couple years are proof that he can coach a defense up. Yes, it helps to have players who are committed, but the Rockets of 14-15 were a very good defensive team that lacked the defensive stopper people assume teams must have. Defense is a team effort and can be coached up. I love the Yin/Yang combo of D'Antoni and Bzdelik.

Trevor Ariza is a good defender but when he's building a brick house it's hard to want him on the floor.

Ariza is just a contract year player.  He had his "breakout" season in 08-09 and won a title with LA which he was able to turn into a 5 year $33 million deal with Houston (doesnt seem like shit nowadays with the new TV deal kicking in, but it was actually an investment at the time), then he shoots under 40% from the field.  Then his contract is about to expire in Washington, he turns into their 3rd best player and gets another solid deal from Houston to return (this time 4 years $32 million), and what do you know, he's back to shooting 40% from the field yet again.  The only times he's shown to be a truly good player in his career are also the only 2 seasons where he's been forced to prove himself
