USA Today - Jets coach Rex Ryan says he considered benching quarterback Mark Sanchez during the team's 10-6 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.

"I considered it today," Ryan responded when asked if he thought about benching Sanchez on Sunday. "But when you look at it, I think he gives us the best chance to win."

Sanchez was 17-for-44 for 216 yards. He lost a fumble and was intercepted, leading to all of Miami's 10 points.

"Nothing changes from my standpoint," said Sanchez. "Rex and I have a good relationship."

Sanchez isn't really going to progress much more than he already has. He has the chance, but the Jets need to give him better protection, he has all the weapons in the world, I just don't think he knows how to use them.

Plus, it's the Jets, we all know they suck.

Oh yeah, the guy has maxed out his potential  This is his 3rd season being a starting QB higher than high school. He started a year at USC, last year, and now this year. Before these last two games, he was making great strides and was looking like a guy you could rely on. These last two games he's played like complete <Censored> but we're not talking about how bad he was yesterday if Holmes didn't drop the TD and a couple other guys didn't drop some passes that should have been caught.

I'd rather see Brad Smith out there though <_<

Sanchez does a lot of thing you'd expect young quarterbacks to do but most concerning is how easy it is to 'rattle' him. Sanchez does not play well under pressure at all and he's even worse when he's stuck been knocked on his ass a few times. Again, young quarterback, but then again...we're seeing a few other young quarterbacks that are immediately showing an ability to handle pressure, stay poised, and make big throws in key situations.

Jury is still out on me when it comes to Sanchez but I will say that he will never be this great QB quarterback. Whether or not he can be good...I'll give it the postseason and next season to decide.
