FoxSports.com's Adam Caplan reports the Rams fear Donnie Avery's season is over after he was carted off the field Thursday night with a serious right knee injury.
The exact nature of the injury isn't known, but it had the look of ACL damage as his knee bent the wrong way. Avery had been on the radar as a high-upside WR5 after bulking up to avoid minor nicks and scrapes this season. His absence will hurt the Rams' deep game, but at least now they have some wideout depth with Brandon Gibson and Mardy Gilyard. Aug. 26 - 11:03 pm et

As if things couldn't get any worse for this team. They are already are going to struggle on offense, now missing a key piece in Avery, it is going to be hell possibly for them.

Rams wide receiver Donnie Avery has a torn ACL according to Howard Balzer of Pro Sports Exchange. He will have surgery and is out for the season.

Avery was injured with 1:32 left in the first half of last night's game as he jumped for Sam Bradford's long pass down the right sideline, fell and clutched his right knee as the ball dropped incomplete.

He is out. Ouch.
