Report: Magic call about Knicks Ronny Turiaf as backup center
One of the clear issues for the Magic after their weekend mega-trades (or at least mega-salary trades) was at backup center. They went from having one of the best in the league with Marcin Gortat, to having Earl Clark. Which is tough in a conference where you want to beat the Boston Celtics.

The Magic are already looking to fill that gap by calling the Knicks about Ronny Turiaf and the Philadelphia 76ers and Tony Battie, according to FanHouse. They are offering Chris Duhon as trade bait.

It would be interesting to see if the Knicks would bring Duhon back after he had an up-and-down relationship with Mike D’Antoni. The Knicks are looking for a backup point guard for Raymond Felton, but would they part with a big who is backing up Amare Stoudemire to do it (another area they want more help)? Turiaf played well for the Knicks at the start of the season but had his production slowed after he sprained his knee. An injury he has continued to play through.

Battie is the more likely option, if the Sixers are interested.

Eh, I don't think New York will want to give Turiaf up for Duhon. Douglas and Felton are soooo much better than Duhon.

I hope the Magic give Clark a chance, he's had some nice games last season.

Duhon and Douglas are the same player. They are both chuckers. Something you don't want at PG.

I'd take Douglas any day over Duhon. Douglas' stats > Duhon. Douglas' shot > Duhon's. Douglas's playmaking > Duhon's.

Duhon has better percentages, and he gets more assists per game in less minutes then Douglas.. Douglas has better stats because he jacks up so many shots. Scoring 10 points per game on under 40% shooting..

Yeah, he is averaging more assists and his FG% is higher, Douglas' 3p% is higher and FT%. Plus he is younger.

yeah i dont think this is going to happen. If they do, they'll have to make another trade to get another back-up center.

Douglas is inconsistent that's the thing I hate about him.

Douglas is a bit of a chucker, but he's a great defender. Duhon isn't anything.

Douglas is just young. I credit a lot of his mistakes to his inexperience
