Love Expected to Re-Sign with Cavs
Sunday, June 28
Although multiple teams are interested in acquiring him, "Love has indicated to [the] Cavs recently he plans to return," according to Fox Sports' Sam Amico. As Cleveland looks to open up cap space, the "Cavs also hope to execute Brendan Haywood contract trade quickly after July 1," Amico tweeted.
Love previously expressed his desire to remain in Cleveland next season, according to ESPN.com's Dave McMenamin on May 31:

Kevin Love on next season: "I truly expect to be suiting up for Game 1." For the Cavs? Love: "Yes, sir."

Cleveland remains the frontrunner to sign Love to a five-year, $100M-plus extension, but Love could be willing to hear out Celtics, Lakers.

The 2014-15 campaign represented a tough transition for Love as he went from the go-to guy with the Minnesota Timberwolves to the third option behind LeBron James and Kyrie Irving in Cleveland.
His production took a hit because of it, as he averaged 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game after putting up at least 20 points and 12 rebounds per game in three of the four previous seasons in Minnesota.
More concerningly, a shoulder injury knocked him out of the playoffs after the Cavs defeated the Celtics. He faced a recovery of up to six months at the time.
