Love Expected to Re-Sign with Cavs

Sunday, June 28
Although multiple teams are interested in acquiring him, "Love has indicated to [the] Cavs recently he plans to return," according to Fox Sports' Sam Amico. As Cleveland looks to open up cap space, the "Cavs also hope to execute Brendan Haywood contract trade quickly after July 1," Amico tweeted.

Love previously expressed his desire to remain in Cleveland next season, according to ESPN.com's Dave McMenamin on May 31:

Kevin Love on next season: "I truly expect to be suiting up for Game 1." For the Cavs? Love: "Yes, sir."

2:30 PM - 31 May 2015

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports noted on June 24 the Cavaliers remain in the lead to sign Love:

Cleveland remains the frontrunner to sign Love to a five-year, $100M-plus extension, but Love could be willing to hear out Celtics, Lakers.

3:29 PM - 24 Jun 2015

The 2014-15 campaign represented a tough transition for Love as he went from the go-to guy with the Minnesota Timberwolves to the third option behind LeBron James and Kyrie Irving in Cleveland.

His production took a hit because of it, as he averaged 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game after putting up at least 20 points and 12 rebounds per game in three of the four previous seasons in Minnesota.

More concerningly, a shoulder injury knocked him out of the playoffs after the Cavs defeated the Celtics. He faced a recovery of up to six months at the time.

Best shot at a ring?
Or leave to be a forgotten #1?

Now let's see if he can get them to give him a bigger role then just spot up/stretch 4.

Also, I don't believe Amico has the scoop here, I imagine he's guessing, but I don't think Love is leaving regardless. If a report surfaced about him setting up meetings with other teams, then I might get worried, but that hasn't happened

Will LeBron and Kyrie be there too? I mean they're all #FutureLakers so it has to happen at some point, right?

So now this "I'm going to reveal my contract through an article" is the new thing? Unbelievable...

I think it's just a Cleveland thing, because you need at least multiple paragraphs to explain your rationale for willingly deciding to live here

What are they gonna do when Lebron retires or starts to suck?  They have like 30 million per year tied up in fucking Shumpert and Thompson.

And Kyrie is only like 23, Love is 26. I imagine they'll be fine

But what if he talks to Jesus and Patrick Willis, and decides that it is time?
