I don't know what it will take for Wilf to get rid of this guy. Wilf interviewed a lot of players this week and word is that the reviews of Childress were far from favorable. I went into this game hoping the Vikings would lose b/c sacrificing a win would've meant a 99.9999% chance Childress was out on the street come Monday. Before Sunday's Cardinals-Vikings game, some Vikings players reportedly wanted to see coach Brad Childress fired even if the Vikings won the game.
Given the way the Vikings won the game, it's likely not happening.
Jeremy Fowler of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that, indeed, Childress will remain on board for next weekend's game against the Bears at Soldier Field.
"We're all good," an unnamed team source told Fowler.
Fowler also reports that owner Zygi Wilf shouted "great heart" to his team after the game.
Childress had this to say about his status: "They came expecting to see an execution and they ended up with a pretty good football game."
Right, but plenty of them still want to see the execution. -PFT
Then our defense woke the hell up in the 4th quarter and Derek Anderson could barely get a pass off. Suddenly our offense started moving the ball with ease. I ended up having to root for the win b/c I still have hope that our team can go into the next game playing with the same intensity as that 4th quarter...and as bad as the NFC is, we've got a chance.
I'm also satisfied knowing that Brad Childress won't be back next season...unless somehow we win the Super Bowl.
