NFL.com - The Denver Post reported on Friday that the Broncos tried to trade back into the first round of last week's NFL Draft to grab former Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley.

The Broncos had already drafted Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller with the second overall pick.

Denver decided against trading up to grab Fairley because it would have cost them too many future draft picks.

The Lions ended up drafting Fairley with the 13th overall pick.

A line with Von, Fairley, and Elvis would be dirty, despite their deficiencies against the run

They should have made the move for a DT at the second selection anyways. Dareus should have been the pick.

Fairley in the mix though for the Broncos with Von and Elvis would be legit.

That would of been sick for them to get Fairley. He would of improved any defense. Just so happens he landed in Detroit :D

Can't blame them for deciding against it. Would of been a nice addition to the defense, but those picks they kept for the players they got, most likely would not have been there later. I'm sure they weren't the only guys who thought about trading up for Fairley.
