Report: Broncos to meet with Charles Woodson

 

Sources tell CBS 4 in Denver that free agent Charles Woodson will meet with the Broncos "soon."

 
If Woodson wants to be a contributor on a contender, Denver is an ideal spot. They're set at corner with Champ Bailey,
 
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Chris Harris, but could use help at safety. Although Woodson is well into his decline phase at age 36, he would provide good competition for tentative starters Mike Adams and Rahim Moore. Woodson was Pro Football Focus' No. 37 safety last season.

It would be cool to see Woodson latch on with the Broncos. He deserves a chance to play on a team with legitimate chances of winning a Super Bowl, and I really do believe that he could be a big addition to that defense as far as leadership and the knowledge of winning a Super Bowl. Not sure if he'd necessarily start, but he's the type of guy who's ready to step in when you need someone. Definitely still a decent playmaker, but nothing like he was 2-3 years ago.
