Official Kennedy was fined in connection with ejection of Rivers: The referees union criticized the league Friday for fining official Bill Kennedy, who was involved in a dispute with Boston coach Doc Rivers on Tuesday.
Rivers was fined $25,000 for his postgame rant in Chicago against Kennedy, who was fined an undisclosed amount. Rivers said Kennedy stared at him, goading the coach into receiving a second technical foul and an automatic ejection.
