http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=355840The Detroit Red Wings re-signed goaltender Jimmy Howard to a two-year contract extension worth $2.25 million per year on Monday.
Howard was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
The native of Syracuse, NY, leads the league in wins this season with a 30-12-3 record and has posted a .908 save percentage and a 2.79 goals against average.
A seriously considered for the Calder Trophy last season, Howard ultimately lost out to Buffalo Sabres defenceman Tyler Myers.
