"There's nothing about Josh Freeman that leads me to believe he's anymore than a good-sized, athletic #2 quarterback on any NFL roster.
"He's a project quarterback that I cannot envision being this team cemented signal-caller."
"Things are bad in Tampa when Freeman is already being thrust onto the field."
Holy hell was I wrong about this kid. The Buccaneers are off to a 4-2 start this season and Josh Freeman IS why.
7-8 in games where he's started or taken a majority of the snaps...and that win column is only growing. Freeman lead the Buccaneers on yet another game winning drive and Raheem Morris' gameplan is clearly: get the ball into Freeman's hands when the game is on the line. Certainly a far cry from the old Tampa philosophy of relying on defense to win the game. Freeman's numbers are (for the most part) NFL average but improvement is what makes them notable. Even more incredible for me is the poise the kid shows on the field, his comfort in leading his offense, and the trust he has in his recievers to make plays. Josh Freeman is showing that he's got the intangibles needed to be a legit starter in this league and even better, icewater running through his veins.
My bad Josh, I had it all wrong.
