Maybe it's revenue sharing, maybe it's the number of seats. Whatever it is, Forbes Magazine claims that the average value of NFL teams is over $1 Billion.

It may seem like a large number, however if the recession continues to hit the NFL as it has, that number could dip dramatically before next season, especially given the possibility of TV Blackouts due to inability to sell tickets, could really jeopardize the value of some NFL teams.

According to Forbes, the recession is already hurting and they claim that 8 NFL teams decreased in value, when the previous 10 years not one team went down in value.

Also thanks to revenue sharing ( see this article if you dont know how it works -- ) each team had a revenue last year of at least $200 Million except for two teams, the Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders. Lastly according to Forbes, 19 of 32 NFL teams have a value over $1 Billion. -- GMF

The Giants have the 4th highest value so we dont have to worry about our team cutting back costs.

True, but that brings me to this... a little article i wrote on my blog the other day.

http://giantspremiumny.blogspot.com/2009/0...for-giants.html

The Giants and Jets are both struggling to sell tickets in this stadium and next year, because of whats in the quotations there. So yeah in a year or two they may be ok, but season ticket holders right now are bot getting any insurance on their spot and price next year for season-tickets, so their not going to buy them, which could really hurt the Giants financially this year.

I hope it doesn't and dont think it will. I think eventually they'll come up with a plan where current ticket holders and new ones that get season tickets will be guaranteed season tickets next year in the new stadium, and get some sort of offered discount, whether it be as little as 2%, for the price of season tickets, its a big amount. I think the Giants are facing that hard truth right now, because the tickets arent selling if you have no "insurance" on future season tickets. Thats one big reason why people buy them...
