Real Madrid has reportedly made Rudy Fernandez an offer worth $18 million over six years.
The deal would make Rudy "the highest paid player in the history of the ACB (Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto)." This sounds like his dream offer, but he was just traded to the reigning NBA champions and is staring at a starting SG job -- as usual, the status of the lockout could be the deciding factor.

He might as well take this offer because it doesn't look like he'll have another way to get paid anytime soon lol.

It's going to be interesting to see what decision he makes. Really, I also wouldn't be surprised if he decides to head over there to Madrid.

A ton of money? I bet he can get an extension from the Mavericks for 3 years, 18 million.

Euroleague contracts are net income
this could actually be around $40+M in the US

Well if that's the case, then I don't see why he wouldn't take it. Wasn't he talking last year how he wanted out of Portland so he could play overseas?

Rudy Fernandez will pass on a six-year, $26 million offer from Real Madrid.

Fernandez would have become the highest-paid player in the Spanish ACB.

Fernandez is due to make just $2.2 million during the 11-12 season before becoming a restricted free agent next summer.

Dallas traded its 26th overall pick, Jordan Hamilton, to the Portland Trail Blazers for Fernandez as part of a three-team, draft-night swap. The Mavs also sent the 57th pick to Portland and received point guard Petteri Koponen.

According to the report from Marca.com, support from Mark Cuban helped convince Fernandez to decline the offer.

good news for the nba and for the mavs. he should be a key player on that roster this season.

Cuban got involved haha, that's great to see that he is staying with the Mavs though. It would suck to lose him to head overseas in this kind of situation.

Rudy was just saying he'll play overseas to get Portland to trade him, mainly it was because we dumped Sergio Rodriguez in 2009. He felt alienated from the rest of the team when Sergio left. Him and Patty Mills hit it off last season and you noticed the trade demands and complaining stopped once that happened.
