The Ravens are proud to announce that John Harbaugh was named to become the third head coach in franchise history.

Harbaugh, the former secondary coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, joined the Ravens Friday night after a long day of meetings.

After a nine-year successful stint as the Eagles special teams coordinator, Harbaugh took over a new role as the club's secondary coach in 2007.

Known for his energy and charrisma, the 45-year-old Harbaugh brings a youthful exuberance to the position.

wow!!! a huge surprise. I know Harbaugh is well-liked and such. but to put an unproven coach is a bit surprising

Ravens just got worse, which is a good thing. Billick was a better coach than this guy will be. Give it a few years and theyll be looking for a new coach again...

Seeing as the Ravens are 4-1 in their last 5 games against the Steelers, what does that make Pittsburgh?

You rested everybody? So did they! Troy Smith was their QB, Musa Smith was their RB, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs, Jarrett Johnson, Kelly Gregg, and Haloti Ngata barely played, and not to mention Ray Lewis, Chris McAlister, Samari Rolle, and Trevor Pryce didn't play at all.

Don't use the sitting starters card, you had more to play for in the game...
