The Los Angeles Clippers have bought out Rasual Butler, and he plans to sign with the Chicago Bulls, a league source told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher.

Butler must clear waivers before he can sign with the Bulls.

Butler had the best scoring season of his career in 2009-10, averaging 11.9 points and 2.9 rebounds. This season he's averaged 5.0 points and 1.9 rebounds.

Butler is making $2.4 million in the last year of his contract

Del Negro never played him. dont know why exactly. he hasnt been hurt all season, but he did miss some time

last year he was really really good. could be a solid move for the Bulls

Yeah, pretty solid pickup for the Bulls.
However, don't think he is that much of an upgrade, if one at all.

Yeah they could. But that's just another player to rotate at SG lol.
They need a legit starter.

i agree

if he gets hot though, he's better from 3 than Bogans and Brewer. maybe he plays alongside Korver some to give the Bulls another shooter

Yeah last year he did real well, he started a lot for them. Hopefully he can play like that again.

Good pickup for the Bulls. Could be solid for when the playoffs come around.

No thanks...

EDIT: Alright, well Butler is OK I guess. He's a decent shooter, that's been awful this season, so maybe he can pick it up with us. I'm not sure how that will happen though, because I don't see him cracking the rotation over Bogans/Brewer/Korver and there are no other minutes to go around.

I guess he can get in the lineup if we're desperate for a 3, but he'll have to return to that near 40% he had two years ago, otherwise he's just another bum added to the mix IMO. Not too thrilled with this move either way, could care less if we have him or don't.

adds depth, thats it. i wish they would have gotten a real starting material guard at the deadline.
