Rangers get Jorge Cantu

Don't mess with Texas. The Rangers made it's third major trade before the July 31 deadline - this time for Marlins first/third baseman Jorge Cantu.
Marlins third baseman Jorge Cantu, who is a free agent at the end of the season, is batting .259 with 10 home runsd and 54 RBI.

The Rangers acquired Cantu for Class AA RHP Evan Reed and Class AA RHP Omar Poveda, who is on DL recovering from Tommy John surgery, according to Fox Sports Ken Rosenthal.

Wow, the Rangers are really preparing themselves for the playoffs this year. It will be interesting to see which of these moves pay off.
