A favorite of mine because he plays my position...

On Monday, the Oakland Raiders agreed to terms with free agent Adam Archuleta.

In a move to add depth to their defense, the Raiders are looking at Archuleta to compete for either a backup job at safety or possibly the starting job at strong side linebacker.

A linebacker during his days at Arizona State, Archuleta was converted to safety when he made it to the NFL. A longterm member of the St. Louis Rams, Archuleta played with the Chicago Bears during the 2007 season, but was cut after a disappointing performance.

Archuleta is one of many potential moves initiated by Raiders' head coach Lane Kiffin, who is determined to bring in more players and generate tons of competition for every spot on the football field. -AE
