Mikhail Prokhorov is stepping away from his business interests in order to focus full-time on politics.
Prokhorov, who is believed to be worth about $13 billion, plans to put his money in a trust fund and let his partners at the investment vehicle Onexim manage his various holdings.
Prokhorov finished third in Russia's presidential election in March.
