Colorado Avalanche forward Kevin Porter has been suspended, without pay, for four games for kneeing Vancouver Canucks forward David Booth during NHL Game #399 in Vancouver on Tuesday, Dec. 6, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Porter will forfeit $18,378.36. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
The incident occurred at 11:52 of the first period. Porter was assessed a major penalty for kneeing and a game misconduct.
Porter will miss games tonight vs. Calgary, Dec. 9 vs. Edmonton, Dec. 13 vs. San Jose and Dec. 15 at San Jose. He will be eligible to return Dec. 17 vs. Washington.
